Sparks in our clay for lives

2. A torch with love its essence
Revealed from its latent presence

3. A drop with passion conscious made
With passion it enlightens the world displayed

4. Love fears no flashing sword
It's not of water, dust, or air

5. In the world it is peace and war
For life the water from this scabbard

6. The gaze of love splits rocks in its way
It's the love of truth and truth leads the way

7. So seek in your clay this chemistry
Ignite from its perfect luminosity

8. Go like Rumi a candle lit aflame
And hurl from Tabriz into Rome your aim

9. If within your heart a lover hosted dwells
Come I tell you of this heart that swells

10. Lovers made all beauty shine
Their love in each heart turns not to decline

11. His love in the heart brighter than the morn
To the Pleiades it makes the dust transform

12. Dust of Najd from it glows and shines
Soaring ecstasy to the heavens climbs

13. Sanctum of Muslims where Mustafa resides
Glory of Muslims, memoir of Mustafa abides

14. A wave from the foot of Mount Sinai hailed
His home to the Noble Kaaba veiled

15. Too narrow to contain His endlessness
Drawn from His infinite peerlessness

16. Choosing to grind his rug of chastity
Raising crowns of Kisra to heights of his community

17. Spiritual retreats in the barren plains
A nation from it and rule illuminated he obtains

18. Many nights solitary he stayed awake
Thus loving his nation an eternal sovereign make

19. His sword in war severs iron and steel
His eyes in remembrance with tears gently yield

20. His trusty sword wipes out the unjust and vain
When for truth he prays for victory's campaign

21. Our ways in our being he made anew
From past rulers a kingdom overthrew

22. With his faith's key the world opened wide
Barren to one like him time's womb lied

23. To him lord and servant leveled the same
He and slave in food found no difference or shame

24. In a raid their elite daughter he held bondage bound
Though her family high with glory crowned

25. Her feet in chains and head in misery bent low
Humbled now the once proud head and eye's broken glow

26. A cloak upon her gently he let down
Seeing her face and bare head bowed in gown

27. We are more naked amongst mankind nowhere to hide
No garment on us by people worn outside

28. To us he's a shelter in the worldly plight
And on Judgement Day to us a caring sight

29. In wrath and conquering all mercy abounds
To friend and foe compassion surrounds

30. And on victory's day this forgiving and great
Said no blame to lay for he was the Omnipotent

31. We are free from the bondage of homelands forever
And we are from the light of his eyes that can never sever

32. We in East and West are like dew in the face
Of the rising dawn in radiant grace

33. Intoxicated were our eyes that roamed the plains
Like glass we are in the world that wanes

34. The greatest fire has turned our lineages to naught
His flames this chaff to total ash have brought

35. We are the flower and our ecstasy fused to make one
In his system a harmony we become

36. We were his secret in his heart held tight
The truth's call through him brought us to light

37. His passion ignited my dormant being
To give life to a thousand songs unseen

38. My words of loyalty and yearning aren't from me
But from the weeping trunk of a tree

39. My image clarified his mirror outright
I'm the dawn unfolding his holy light

40. The turmoil of Judgement on my sleeping night
And my calm amidst chaos and constant fight

41. I'm the garden in its spring sap flows
In my veins the water from his rains flows

42. In the soil of love my eyes have sown
From tends of eyes this harvest has grown

43. From blessed Yathrib two worlds were raised revered
Blessed the abode where the Beloved appeared

44. To Jami in poetry my life I give
His prose and verse cures my ignorance deprived

45. He said a verse with meanings that get through
In it a jewel of praise that spews

46. It's title is the book of human and Jinn
Master of the worlds, Sovereign of the two beings

47. See how love shows you its lofty signs
So you see tradition in his divine names

48. Love perfected tradition of the Beloved Friend
To gain nearness to the Answering Lord ascend

49. In the wilderness of your heart sit empty in the plain
And to Truth submit as you from all abstain

50. Gain strength through Truth then to yourself return
And break apart Lat and Uzza falsehoods you learned

51. Gain strength through love in its domain supreme
And seek the sweetness in its spring serene

52. You'll gain the nearness you seeker of the great
And you'll be the interpretation of "I am Making" that relates
