1. Our throbbing heart refuses a homeland
Its raging wind refuses a dwelling

2. Our heart is not from India or Rome
Nothing but Islam is our land

3. Ka'b the poet in the best of worshippers
Recited praise, when Saad appeared

4. He strung pearls beautifully in his praise
Of swords of India, he called one a sword

5. Above the celestial spheres in it is an elevation
His lineage did not make him incline to countries

6. He said a sword from Allah's swords, say
O supporter of truth, do not speak nonsense

7. And so much the one of high status said
Whose brilliance is the eye of messengers

8. I have from your world beloved
Some of what is in it, lawful and good

9. If you know the secret of meanings, understand
The subtle point in your world

10. He was in the world and in it he dwelt
That radiance in the night of time

11. Whose brilliance the world shone
Radiant when Adam was clay

12. I do not know what protected him and the homeland
That he dwelt within us

13. He saw in our land a world for us
And he in the world like a guest among us

14. When we lost heart in this ruin
And we lost soul in this dust

15. The land does not limit the Muslim's heart
He does not see in wanderings, where am I and you

16. The Muslim has no special place in the land
Confused in his heart every homeland

17. If the heart succeeds then in its expanse
This universe strayed in its space

18. The nations' knot, the Muslim untied
The Greatest Imam abandoned the abode

19. A nation filling the world they founded
Making monotheism in it tenets

20. The earth became for our religion a mosque
When virtue spread among us and guidance

21. That Praiseworthy in the Wise Remembrance
That Protected by Allah, the Merciful

22. The enemies shudder from his awe
In trembling from the rising of his brilliance

23. Why then did he abandon his homeland
Did he fear the enemies so flee

24. Vengeance obscured the story's meaning
They erred in understanding emigration's meaning

25. Emigration a law, the Muslim's life
Emigration the Muslim's steadfastness secret

26. It is traversing toward the expanse
And for the pain, leaving the drop

27. Abandon the flower for the garden's sake
Surely this loss is abundant gain

28. The sun's honor is unrestrained course
In it above the plains fluttering

29. Be not a river from clouds extending
But the sea, endless billowing

30. Intend subjugating the entire world
To see the Sultan of the world's people

31. No abode in existence confines you
And be the whale roaming the seas

32. All who are freed from regions' humiliation
For you the universe flourishes from all regions

33. The rose left its fragrance so it spread
In the open meadow, diffusing scent

34. O prisoner who dwelt in a garden
Wandering infatuated in a rose

35. Set your soul free like the zephyr
Then embrace all the meadows' flowers

36. Beware deception of the new age
Confusion of approach, beware O insightful one
