1. The light of God shines in your heart
Leave desire and fame in your love

2. For with love the Muslim overcomes
A Muslim without love has strayed

3. Be content with truth and see with truth
For in truth there is sleep and wakefulness

4. In His pleasure find self-effacement
How could people be pleased by this claim?

5. In my Lord is the pillar of Oneness laid
And over all people a witness made

6. And the honest caller bears witness to Him
The truest witness over witnesses

7. So leave talk for clear action
And light up the night of deeds with truth

8. Be an ascetic in royal garb
Remembering God while conscious and absorbed

9. Seek the truth in all your actions
So Majesty from the Truth in you shines

10. Best war is when against gods you rise
Worst peace when other than Him you prize

11. If our swords do not raise truth high
Our lines are shamed in this war's dye

12. Our Shaykh, Shaykh Mia Nmir the Friend
From his era secrets unfurl and bend

13. Firm on the path of the Chosen he stayed
Love of Truth his passion displayed

14. In our lands his faith lies in repose
A torch on our countries he rose

15. The stars bowed at his door
The King of India was his disciple before

16. The King sowed his passion in the heart's reign
Eager in zeal the lands to gain

17. With passion he lit up his heart aflame
Reciting: Is there any way to temper my blame?

18. His armies subdued every land
And conquest on the colonies and

19. The Muslim's way is to truth to yield
Governing through prayer the battlefield

20. The Shaykh sought the Highest Rank
Praying for the prayer of triumphant thanks

21. The Shaykh was silent at the king's tale
And every follower was quiet and pale

22. An elder disciple broke the mystified hush
Clutching a single coin in his clutch

23. My Master, accept this meager vow
You to the poor by truth endow

24. My sweat from all limbs did flow
Before my hands held the dirham low

25. The Sultan to it has the foremost right
Asking in kingly robes that met the sight

26. Our king poorer than all mankind
Assigned the sun and moon in kind

27. His hunger with fire the worlds refine
His eyes atop the loaf of others recline

28. His sword starvation and death did fling
His soul destroys and builds a temporal thing

29. The nations clamored at his poverty inside
Wretched the poor from the hunger of his hands' tide

30. His rule over the people most wicked and worst
Blocking humanity's roads dispersed

31. With deceit of the self and ignorance induced
His plunder as conquest and evil the ruse

32. The king's army and how they have deterred
With the swords of hunger shreds incurred

33. The questioner's morsel, the hunger of one implored
And the king's ruin, the injustice of one overlord

34. Ask sheathed, one who for other than God implores
His sword in his chest sheathed gores
