1. May Allah bless the soil of al-Shafi'i
The dazzler of intellects, this brilliant one

2. His thought hunted a shining star
When he called time a cutting sword

3. It fears and hopes like its companion
His palm the palm of Kalim striking

4. The rock gushes from his blow
And the sea overflows from his advance

5. This sword was in the hand of Kalim
So he disposed with resolute determination

6. He split the breast of the sea, the spark shone
He made the staff like the dry land

7. And with this sword on the day of danger
Khaibar was crushed by the hand of Haydar

8. It is possible to see the cycles of the spheres
And its light continues and circles

9. O prisoner of today and yesterday look
Look in the heart, be a veil

10. You have sown falsehood in the soul
And thought time an impending misfortune

11. You measured time's length for misery
With a forearm of morning and evening

12. And made the thread a belt for yourself
You became for idols a helper, woe unto you

13. You became, O Elixir, lowly dust
O born of the Truth, you became false

14. Cut the belt, free, do not waver
Be a candle in the assembly of the free

15. Oh oblivious to the origin of time
How can you know the eternity of existence

16. O prisoner of dawn and evening, understand
For me, know the time with God

17. All that appears of its flow
And life's secret of its secrets

18. Nothing I see of the sun exists
It perishes while this endures

19. By it the sun shone and the moon
By it in life what soured and sweetened

20. You spread time like space
And separated today from yesterday's time

21. O breeze that escaped from its garden
And the prisoner from his building

22. Our time amongst the melodies traveled
In it there is no first or last

23. Life, time - O knower of both
Do not insult time, the words of the Chosen

24. A pearl-like subtlety, take it gentle
Between free and slave, distinguish

25. The confusion of the servant, the flow of time
The confusion of times, the heart of the believer

26. The servant weaves on it a shroud
Of morning and evening, submissive

27. And you see the free from clay emerged
His soul around the nights woven

28. The servant's cage, morning and evening
Forbidden to soar in the sky's sphere

29. And in the free man's chest the soul fluttered
The bird of days in it trapped

30. The servant's innate state, obtaining the obtained
In his thinking there is no use

31. In a place of stagnant stillness
His wailing night and day one

32. And the free ever renewed
Each moment with a new melody

33. The servant's leash, morning and evening
And the words of destiny died in his mouth

34. And I see the free man fate's hand
His palms painted the events of time

35. To him the past met the forthcoming
The imminent before his hands met the final

36. For my meanings words and echoes fell short
Perception failed in this scope

37. I said and the words from the meaning shy
And the meaning complains of words' deficiency

38. A meaning died in imprisoning letters
Its fire extinguished by you

39. A secret and presence in hearts
A symbol of time and passing in hearts

40. Time for us has a silent melody
And in the heart a faint secret

41. Where are the days in which the sword of fate
We turned in our hands, Destiny's gift

42. We planted faith in the soil of hearts
And strained the truth in the veil of the unseen

43. And from the world we unraveled knots
And the soil prostrated, illuminated by us

44. From the vat of Truth we poured the wine
And demolished the tavern of the ancient age

45. O director of winds in their lights
And melter of the cup from its glitter

46. You are drunk on delusion and pretense
And you mock our poverty and religion

47. Our cup was the lamp of the assembly
Our breasts were for hearts aflame

48. This age from our traces
From the birds that flew in our flow

49. The garden of Truth watered by our blood
The honor of the people of Truth through us

50. The world greatened from our magnification
As Kaaba's built by our restoration

51. Recite the Truth, for us learned
In our hands His provision divided

52. Do not diminish the worth of a free man destroyed
If you see the crown passed and the ring

53. If to you we are the companions of loss
Elders of thought, allies of the young

54. For us is honor from none but Allah
We are for both worlds guards of His brilliance

55. We left the worry of yesterday and tomorrow
And were loyal to the One Beloved

56. We are heirs of the guides of mankind
We are with the Truth a secret stored

57. The sun does not cease to show our light
Our cloud in it lightning and radiance

58. Our essence the mirror of the Truth, know
Sign of the Truth, a Muslim's existence
