1. The month of August has passed, yet my devotion to you has not wavered
Despite the sorrow in my heart and your prolonged estrangement

2. It is unjust that my heart finds peace
As August ends while you still resent me

3. An unpleasant month has gone by
And you remain stubborn in your rejection

4. I praise Allah that this is not how you promised me
That you would abandon me and dissolve our bond

5. We know the extent of your anger, so do your utmost
To show me clemency, which should be easy for you

6. Breaking a promise brings no shame
But shame lies only in violating your word

7. And you used to be inclined to pardon and forgiveness
Which prompt me to praise you

8. So forgive my shortcomings and lapses
Your nobility and wisdom demand your guidance

9. I have done wrong, which is in my nature
So intentionally do right

10. My desire has come to you and I still
Hope to see success in those who seek you
