3. Spending the night and morning with no absence of its lover
A respite of worries or awakening from sins

4. The leader is granted it and sleeps happily
And remains humble when awake

10. The kingโ€™s possession is his hidden and manifest realm

11. Sweet of tongue and never harsh
Angry of tongue and not impetuous

And enough of the improper tongue without nonsense

14. The desirous are thanked so their manners
Are joyful and such is the state of amusement

Familiarized by his limit with warnings

17. As if his love is a towering mountain
From which rocks crumble in their fall

18. His calm has authority over his matter
So itโ€™s as if he is forgetting and not forgetful

21. So when time frowns and passes grimly
His time smiles and glitters

22. The beauty of his deeds does not cease to cheer him
Before and sadden him from rivals

23. The generous Arabs and Persians exchange

24. Intercession of generosity reached him for their request
So he saw their need as great

26. Healing worries and fending off any harms
From us with the wisdom of an intuitive decision maker

29. And his rule was beautiful and pleasant to tongues and lips
So that he surpasses the greatest of princes

30. With a vizier the greatest of viziers
His servant has become such that he rivals

31. A master among kings how he vies!
Look for you are looking closely

32. Is there in your vizier one who rivals your vizier?
Did he make enemies submit when he stood

33. Except the humiliation of their noses and brows?
They prostrated and if they refused, the place of their prostration

34. He would have pelted them with his schemes
Indeed, when an observer contemplates the vizier

35. He sees the tools of a cautious planner and a splendid crown
Sleep however you wish for the building is not crumbling

36. No, the foundation of the building is not crumbling
Your hands have gotten from the vizier a valuable one

37. His advice comes without coercion
As for his appearance, it is imperial

39. Is the opposite of ostentation if he pretends
The eyes of a group have slept to insight

40. While you remain awake without slumber

45. And crowned him from the honor of deeds with diadems
The rewards of good have rewarded the one in charge

46. So right before every covetousness, he is salvation

47. Not like the son of discord and a partisan group
Who missed out on doing good except his passion

48. O questioner, about the son of filth while he took shelter
In the fire, burns there with its flames

49. The wretch was a wolf of the abases of time
And the men of his state were meaner wolves

50. Then he transgressed so now he is a foolish beast
And his ignorance adorned him with false splendor

51. He became audacious and foolish in speech quarrelling
Until we nicknamed him the father of nonsense

52. Obstinate, silent about his Lord
So time pelted him with stones and muzzles

53. Al-Muwaffaq disappeared so he doubted his absence

By God, you made a fool of yourself not joking
