1. O you who strikes extravagant examples
You did not cast hatred with a blazing firebrand

2. You became the adversary of truth, destroying what was built
While truth argues and you contend

3. You let loose your rubbish, not your goodness, straying
And you chose from your manners other than the best

4. You likened yourself while the banners turn it
Their favors to the land and the built

5. And you saw preserving what good they came with
Or evil, generosity and freeing carpenter

6. And you claimed in yourself an earthly nature
O precedent of the decree with acknowledgment

7. And you were right and did not lie, for
Good cannot be repelled with denial

8. But bring that nature in the young man
Which she covers with veils

10. In us and in you there is an earthly nature
That makes us fall for the evil of dwellings

And a hand that reaches the places of destinies

What people cannot attain with their sights

And look with the eye of reason, not the eye of desire

30. For the truth belongs to the bare, clear eye

Then by the merit of preference over preference

And the righteous refused to conform to it

If not for the maneuvers of choice, they would have yielded

42. To a desire just as a caravan’s camels are lined up
And you see them like the stars, for they

43. Are successive, all for an orbit
Aiming for one direction, and for them are many

44. Risings and settings
So forget grudges, for they are forgotten

45. Except with the wicked and evildoers
And disobey nature if it coaxes you to preserve it

46. And choose over it to be among the good
The nature of earth continues to defeat its vileness

47. Whoever among it has the spirit of the Omnipotent
Do not forget God’s spirit in you and that

48. It was made to reform every defect in you
When the young man remembers it

49. Grudges come alive with burning ember
Perhaps it, if it does not harm an enemy

50. While he aggressively harms promptly
Scorch the wings of his chest from his hatred

51. With the flames of probing ember and inferno
So his chest has from that the evil of hatred

52. And his heart has from that the evil blaze
That one who plotted evil against himself

53. Plotting and schemed against his enemy with concealment
He did not attain from him an attainment

54. And the bowstring rebounds upon the bowman
His hands returned his scheming in his throat

55. And so it is with the scheming of invaders
Sufficient are grudges humiliation and disgrace

56. That you do not meet an open enemy
Rather he walks hostility in his hatred

57. At night and glooms under every day
He meets his enemies with a face of humiliation

58. While his tongue battles that which is concealed
But the people of integrity and pardoning

59. Openly without hiding
They discarded resentments when they saw

60. A danger that terminates them among dangers
So look with the eye of reason, not the eye of desire

61. For truth belongs to the bare, clear eye
The soul is your virtue, it is sublime

62. And the body your evil, there is no doubt
Support your good, not your evil and follow

63. The former with the Oft-Forgiving, Powerful
Be like your soul in sublimity to the Most High

64. Not like the nature of your betraying body
The soul transcends to the elevation of its King

65. While the body plunges down rushing
So aid the more rightful of the two with your support and overpower

66. The lowly nature with your willful one
