1. A brother, my trust, make excuses for me
With an affliction that destiny's decree has struck you with

2. You have been afflicted, and a servant has no refuge from his Lord's decree
There is no escape, and God's command is supreme and compelling

3. One who time does not replace has died
From your ancestors, and the truth dazzles

4. A father after a righteous mother and relatives
Who passed away at night in the darkness that blossoms

5. So you slept, and did not forsake your drink after them
And how often does the soul forsake fresh water and stay up

6. You were consoled for one whose life yielded fruit for you
And consoling for your fruits is more appropriate

7. For the cunning of fate in a son and in a daughter
Is easy, and the turns of fate make you older difficult

8. It is hard to reproach our mothers
And fathers, and offspring cannot be reproached

9. Until God establishes the day of His reckoning
Where they will meet and the souls will be folded and spread

10. So do not perish in sorrow for a daughter of Heaven
Who has become, and she is with God, loved and ennobled

11. Maybe He who granted you the veil of her life
Clothed her from the grave, which is more concealing

12. In water there is purity unlike any purity
And soil is sometimes purer than water

13. The female will not be informed throughout her life
But after death, she will be informed

14. Nor is she safe from scandals against her
For ages, or it decides against her and she is buried

15. And how many a free brother have I seen
Burned by the fire of in-laws, seared and melted

16. So do not blame God for her trustee-ship
Or oversight, for God to the servant is more oversight

17. And even if you saw all your righteousness
The Most High Observer sees your righteousness more

18. And the Giver will not lack to replace a knight
So be patient, for the dutiful are those who endure

19. In life there is sweetness, and in life there is bitterness
Fate has good favor and fate has disfavor

20. This world is no home to settle
Rather, the world is a passage and crossing
