1. You attained the last of what you attained the first of
O son of al-Khasib, and prosperity grew in you

2. I had said when Allah sent your wind:
Now the sword and the pen treat us equally

3. It did not harm your enemies that they have
A god they worship among them, nor religious duties

4. And they did evil and their suspicions were evil
So whatever distress from you afflicted them was deserved

5. And you granted the servants of Allah a gift
The like of which, even if prosperity were to blacken for him

6. The soul is a precious attachment, nothing equals it
When valuations and prices are equal

7. You neither sat back from harm or obstruction
But rather you pardoned, and in your hands was vengeance

8. And that is the first good news: your state
Is a rain upon which love and breeze prosper

9. Blessed is Allah greatly for your boon
