1. The most delightful imaginations of hopes with their flashes,
And the most wretched souls with blaming them and their ambitions.

2. They called us to praise men or dispraise them,
Tears of clouds for them and their weeping.

3. And time treats us arrogantly with its division,
Between anger and pleasure from us is their happening.

4. So it is perplexed in the shallow pond like its tadpoles,
And it is perplexed in the deep sea like its shoals of fish.

5. And despicable people whom their despicableness harms,
And youths whom their youthfulness harms.

6. And in this world there are parties that have not ceased
To the injustice of oppression, not to the truth of its submission.

7. So neither the protected coquettes refuse it,
Nor the obligatory rights amongst them lack it.

8. So they are not safe, and let them beware of the unknown result of their matter,
For the adversity of lofty tidings is fraught with tribulation.

9. And whoever feels secure that fear would depart from him
While no security from an abhorred thing that does not alarm him exists,

10. Will flee from the security of consequences—feeling safe—
But not from what his refuge brought him of deception.

11. And people have deeds for which their extension is rewarded,
And time has states for which its cups are measured.

12. Perhaps descendants will be degraded and the lowly
Will be exalted, and the bowing structures raised.

13. So how many glories did baseness hit its noble ones,
And how many glories did honor hit and made them broken.

14. Will you deliver on my behalf to the eminent Ala’ bin Sa’eed,
A message from a soul of little forbearance so its weeping is pulled together.

15. If you withhold, then God’s bounty is perfect,
And if you conceal, then the sun’s emergence is perfect.

16. Your soul refused benevolence until it was tried
To despair—a soul settled and alarmed.

17. But you do not harbor inside love
For your palm trees, nor poured earth with watering.

18. So its shadows did not cool down for the ignorant,
Nor did its springs freshen for the ones tasting it.

19. The palm trees refused to ripen their fruits,
And their roots and branches are wicked.

20. You married rhymes without dowry while you
Are not their peers, so the censured ones blame it.

21. Take your time, do not rush and take it slowly,
It will be dearly sold to people other than you in exchange.

22. My virginal rhymes will be dowried if I court with them,
The shy doers of fine deeds with splendor and spread goods.

23. And if I am vexed with a land to the extent
That I answer the regions of countries with their milestones.

24. And rhymes are not rhymes if their
Nonsense from truth and nonsense is safeguarded.

25. And they are not like snakes in being protected,
When the boldness towards you is urged and wounding made long.

26. It refused that its glory be diminished through submission,
The honor in itself refused to be pursued through humility.

27. And whoever did not find sufficient pasture in the favor of his palms,
Then in his honor, not in other than it, is her gazing place.

28. Deliver my regards, those are the casks pulled
To other than you, their straps opened and inclining.

29. Maiden rhymes like maiden girls he drives
To youthfulness while their candles are lit.

30. We clothed you in it while we were quite unaware,
With praise that did not congratulate the profit of its sale.

31. And how many hopes it drew from us to you,
Yet distanced from you, not towards you, their inclination.

32. Indeed I went astray, and the travelers spent the night, and they woke up
Dragging their luggage towards you and emigrating.

33. God decreed that the wailing of her bereavement does not dissolve
From the hand of time when it clung to you with its wailing.

34. You wore favors so your slide dragged
At its ends and its middles from it are blackened.

35. And its clothes did not exude perfume when they raised you,
Nor beautify in the sight of anyone its armor.

36. And you were not wronged to stumble in adorned
Attire—your organs do not refuse them.

37. Since indeed you sought your share of elevation,
So it leaped to distant ignoble ones excluding it.

38. You were satiated at the market of palm trees unjustly, so receive good news,
You will be raised above it after a little while when its trunks grow.

39. And you said we surpassed men in merit and truth,
And what sort of men whose scales did not weigh you?

40. Who are you but spreader of improper lineages
Which their invalidity rebuts what he alleged.

41. May spit strike your mouths which I meant earlier,
Sons of Makhled, may he enliven your trunk bones and straighten them.

42. You attained wealth so you gained Bedouin character
And lineages amongst you spread their falsehood.

43. And if the nomads’ houses were as charitable as you claim,
They would be buildings that did not shade you with their branches.

44. If only you were refined masters,
You would not have liked the hunger of an Arab or its kind.

45. Your longing to Huzwa refused remembrance from you
While your hearts recall the recollection of Jukhaa melting them.

46. You are the lanterns for the darkness of misguidance, its appearing,
If the relation of kinship connects it would be considered severed.

47. I see the disease of life cured by yourfortune,
The worst of it is its benefits and lastingness.

48. And this is Abu Al-Abbas alive, hoped for,
Striking the aspiring heads bowing them.

49. A young man from the clan of Al-Abbas, his reverence has climbed
High above the noblest of genealogies rising.

50. Distinctions for the attire of matters and their categories,
Unifier of the scattered matters and their collection.

51. God and days have about him a deposit
Whereby troubles are healed and its emaciation is near.

52. A distinguished quality did not cease in every situation leading it,
The blossom of beauty’s peak frightened it.

53. So patience until you see days that
Their evils upon you, O people, will prolong.

54. And you attained from him and his loyal friends
Flashes that do not fail to fulfill what is there of watering.

55. Indeed those are the dishonesty of evil and its manifestation,
May pigs of villages and their hordes suffice them.

56. They manifested as Bedouins and you burrowed wrongfully the lineage of their origin,
So you spent the night while the falsehood among you nested.

57. And birds of prey and pigeons are not equal, by my life,
Nor starlings and quails.

58. You fulfilled all that exists of evil,
And days against you have awe rendering it dreadful.

59. And eating haram made you complacent, so be forebearing,
Every glutton has a madness soon to obsess him.

60. It is as if you were bitten by vermins and did not cease to have
Bites where its wound will not be saturated with blood money.

61. A state will be debased from you once its time comes,
With a state of honesty that its return’s shadow cast.

62. In it a group of Wahb’s house will stand
Who affectionately advised kings bowing their chests.

63. They have a victorious state by their actions,
Victory refused to abandon from it the crowds.

64. Their swords preceded them in all merit,
And their bounty in every time like armor.

65. There, the hearts’ rancor is healed
Once your inferences deeply took root.

66. Show me on that day your empowerment, that indeed,
It is cold to hearts that ulcerated and chewed.

67. Neither did their blood drain at that time
Nor eyes over you tears effused.

68. You summoned against it a soul that refuses
That is little in comparison to the most refusing tyrant.

69. So below you are distortions and nonsense that he who,
Distorts speech and crankiness manufactured.

70. I am not a sayer of lies but I
Am the sayer of that which provokes the ignoble eater.

71. Pitier of noble ones whom they flourished and overflowed,
Stoner of vile ones whom they solidified and their skins thickened.

72. I give greetings flaring the nostrils
For if I am ignorant of my right, then I have what enflames it.

73. If afterwards you still turned away arrogantly, then I
Am one who straightens the few tight nostrils.

74. With an edge swift like the blowing winds, and it reached
As shining light of glittering swords its shining.

75. Whoever obstructs its exhalation and coldness,
I have in store for him its wrapping and branding.

76. I am the seeker of her whom I am worthy of,
While others when she turns her behind to them, roam confused.

77. I am not in terms of bounty, her soul,
Nor am I in terms of tribulation, her body that straightens from shaking.

78. The life was joyful and harmed its heavens (potential),
So for the people, its clouds are desolate barren land.

79. So do not despair of life nor be deceived by it,
Its Giver is its Depriver and its deprivation.
