1. By your life, whenever the guest of Ibn Musa fasts,
If he hosts him one day even if he is fasting,

2. He invites us to break our fast with plenty,
Of flowing knowledge that leaves the mind gentle.

3. So he was an early settlement before settlements,
Alluring and serene for souls matching him.

4. We have not seen knowledge like his, preferred
Provision, with a light load even if protecting.

5. And we've argued before him with sights,
Amusing ourselves with them until forgetting meals.

6. Furnishings that dazzle the eye, as if
A spring has contended with spring, wrestling.

7. So say regarding a spring, regarding a spring I see you,
A spring that sees praise of men as spoils.

8. Three shapes we composed and maybe
A provider afforded delicacies to the composer.

9. We stayed sheltered, keeping hunger away as if
Repelling an enemy from ravaging sanctuaries.

10. With a listener at times and at times with a sight,
Whoever saw him thought he was dreaming.

11. So he kept fulfilling the service of glory its right,
Until glory called him saying I ransom you o servant.

12. Agile and active, short of tail when seated
Preparing what satisfies the guest and standing ready.

13. And brought us the Pleiades, and we were not
Reaching the lofty stars.

14. An edifice that noses enjoy its softness
When mouths taste those touches.

15. Happy fortunate two whom you recognize in both
From good omens, signs for it and features.

16. They excelled in beauty over the lads and contended
The stubbornness of people, the generous spirits.

17. We stayed challenging the sun our day
With their two faces, not asking the judge for injustice.

18. When we open, elder brother, a question for one of them
We find the heart's perception knowing.

19. If we sing to his brother we provoke
Delight so we ransom the harmonizing gazelle.

20. There is nothing wrong with either one except what
Old age has stripped away from them of ornaments.

21. So when it was time to serve food for the people,
He came with a meal that reminds people of Hatem.

22. A pot of lambs whose host
Was grilled bread soaked in drippings.

23. And if guests visited him once,
He expected chickens stuffed with delicacies.

24. And he dated with desserts, dating of a talented one,
And the best of efforts is their best endings.

25. No poetry unless its meter is scanned
When reciters who withstand take up poetry.

26. We witnessed his generosity, we saw him noble
And lasting in blessings, we saw him decisive.

And how good are blessings when they neighbor

28. A lad who protects blessings and builds virtues.
So he kept the rug trodden by a dear heel

29. Loving abundance, safe and sound.
Beneficial, issuing fatwas, may God confer His bounty

30. Upon him and appoint him loyal, forever.
And in this an invitation I have a share

31. And it's alright, a friend can call for partnership.
Whoever calls one day for the Euphrates, so

32. He called for the one who quenches a wandering thirsty one.

33. So allow him to enjoy his two sons an enjoyment that delights him
Despite whoever became displeased with that, unwilling.

34. And many are the deeds of Ibn Musa, and even if
He did admirable deeds that were daring.

35. He builds structures, finding his father building them
And the likes of Ibn Musa sought those heights.
