And you build glories and virtues yourself

3. Perhaps what you find for a building glory
Is only a man who became a demolisher of wealth

4. Your gazelles have passed days for the loyal
Beautiful faces and for the enemy ill omens

5. And your eye glanced at one who still has a speck in it
And stepped on the nose of your envious underfoot

6. Your eye saw Al-Abbas reaching
What you have reached as a fighter and reconciler

7. And his brother Harun whom virtues
Became congenial and harmonious with

8. Two brothers, whichever you tested, you found
In every calamity, beneficial and protecting

9. And if they compete in deeds
It's as if Ibn Mama's Hatem competed in generosity

10. The best allies and confidants
And the most fragrant in drink and food

11. The gentlest to the touch and cloaks
And the firmest in pinches and arguments

12. You find Al-Abbas a rising full moon
And his brother Harun, an ascending star

13. And their father a sun extending with its light
Their two lights forever flowing

14. And a sister who said, I see you pensive
Until I see you asleep from tranquility

15. So I told her that I am a passionate man
Lost in every valley, not awakened from their worries

16. I spend my nights and days seeking the absent
With anxieties roaming around ruins

17. Aiming for my fortune thereby fulfilling
A duty to the good of the Tayy clan

18. A king who obeys generosity in his money
When asked and does not obey the critic

19. They still love me the abundant but
They loved my sincere praise, not pretentious

20. And when will a poet rise to your praise
To be seen lost in every valley

21. O son of the exalted, they were not found
Except as the mighty of an era, repelling mighty feats

22. And son of the exalted, an era did not pass
Except they charged its noses and mouths

23. Forbidding sins and betrayal
And wise and resolute

24. I mean the servants of God, the best of His servants
Except for our great imams, steadfast

25. O you who love genuine glory
And see its heavy burdens as spoils

26. O you who, when praised in gatherings
Are adorned with praise like amulets

27. Protection for morals and nature that have become
Paragons and signs for us in beauty

28. Wondrous is he who forgot the consequences of his generosity
Forgetting your generosity, how can he be called wise?

29. And who pardoned extensively, transgressing
A day like your pardon, how can he be called firm?

30. And who quenched souls’ thirst with his swords
Like your quenching, how can he be called merciful?

31. And who protected the world like your protection that
Made you famous, how can he be called a pouring rain?

32. But you are the man we never met
Except established on the ways of truth

33. Matters come to pass and you avoid their coming
Congratulations for what comes and what leaves you knowing

34. You give and withhold when you desire and sometimes
Pardon and lash out, just not unjust

35. Your thumb never settled out of regret
When men bit their father

36. How much you pardoned without disclosing sanctities
Rather, how much you lashed out without violating sanctities

37. How much you gave without losing a gift
Rather, how much you withheld, defending, not prohibiting

38. O Family of Tahir, purified as his name
Never devoid of bounty, gentle and pliant

39. I said to those pretending your hearing
The hidden will never be immigrating

40. You were closed, so you were nostrils to the faces
And you were skulls to the heads

41. So if you are weighed with the distant ones among you
You would be motes and the others statues
