1. You still boast though praise is meager,
Your honor is dear though wealth is paltry.

2. You burdened me with more than I can bear,
The generous bear burdens, they don't impose them.

3. You tasked me with what you deserve, though some of it
Is hard on those tasked, and burdensome.

4. If you seek problems in praise,
You'll find no way to men.

5. Can you find a peer in praise obliging you?
Alas, none can equal you in matters.

6. My livelihood failed to fulfill your rights,
Can I alone bear it while you are a tribe?

7. Rather a season, a nation, worlds,
Yes, worlds - and all that's still too little.

8. The favors of the generous suffice,
Praising them more is tedious.

9. The little from the lowly comes in full right,
So it equals much from the lofty.

10. The palm of the miser is calloused when taking,
The palm of the generous is soft when giving.

11. Will you listen as I speak what
Comforts the resentful and frees the anguished?

12. I have spoken truly with wisdom in a sermon
Where rhetoric succeeds if it makes crooked straight.

13. Flaws are many when sought out,
Forgiving most when few is best.

14. Make your survey of praise an examination
Of the future you will reap and obtain.

15. Thus it behooves the youth to bear it
And thus it is most virtuous to say "noble."

16. Let your praisers fall short - do not be
One who's called "falling short" and stingy.

17. I seek refuge for you from being called a clerk
Who learned accounting, his affair is collecting.

18. Better than that, be called glorious
Who learned generosity, his affair is easing.

19. Display your beauty despite each ugliness.
Adorning oneself is seemly for men.

20. What harm befalls an eminent man whose worth
Is struck by praise while he is eminent?

21. The rightest wife produces a lovely form
Though an unsteady, stumbling one is mentioned.

22. Yet the nobler of the two parents
For begetting glory is the ungrateful denier.

23. Is denial forgiven though it's a major sin,
While likening and comparing are punished?

24. Why should I excuse obeying an analogy
Said by peers of old and peers of new?

25. The debris of any accusation was struck down
As a parable - and that was said before me.

26. Excel and lower your eyes in mercy
To the flawed - preferring them suits you.

27. Any disparager surely hurts your peer
While you have no peer among disparagers.

28. How often has your generosity told the blamer at first,
"Never! My ways do not change!"

29. And to him whose criticism it answered again,
"Never! My blessings do not alter!"

30. My comfort and repeat comfort are for your ease,
And for the day you're known, a beginning and roots.

31. O you who claims our rights from himself
Like a creditor - gratify him with haste!

32. And sleeps when we plan thanking him -
The generous act is delayed thanks.

33. O you who, when roused for a generosity
I find alert while rambling aimlessly from him,

34. Until, when awakened for a lofty deed,
I find him reasoning and rooted!

35. My soul's hopes in you are no greed,
Though they're fields and trees.

36. I have summed up describing your merits in summary,
With details following from experience.

37. Let questioners test you, and they will find
If they try you, the interpretation comes to them.

38. It will explain your actions to them that
You are ever guarantor of your praisers' truth.

39. I still come hopefully to you aiming
Like the morning toward you - proof of you.

40. When companions consider you, they wish well,
And whoever contemplates the eminent, aspires.

41. No aspirer directed his aspiration to you
Unless he met aspiration and fulfillment.

42. A first time and clarity testified to your merit -
It's right to revere and extol them.

43. A ready hand fulfilled its promise -
It's right to favor and kiss it.

44. They hope, apart from you, for delights,
But you're relied on absolutely for wishes.

45. Reliance on you still proves true,
While for others and your enviers there are wails.
