1. Call me, O brother of nobility, and call again
Even if it is an hour before my death

2. By Allah, the Prophet, his family
As witnesses, and the Muslims as a group

3. That I do not upset your heart with eating
What you consider disgusting

4. So when your messenger comes to me
I will settle my eating affairs before hunger

5. And provision myself with water
As much as I can and am able

6. So when the urine saturates me
My intention is not for the toilet or urinal

7. And I head secretly to the shore
For the likes of me, that is enough

8. And I spread a handkerchief beneath me
And make shifts covertly with the gown

9. So be satisfied with me on this oath
Even if it is distasteful to you
