1. O you, when your father sees you among men,
He excuses you with pretexts.

2. I swear by Allah, if you were my son,
I would put you nowhere but in graves.

3. You have a face that Allah has cursed it -
As if its snout is a pig's snout.

4. And I have not benefited from the diwan
Except spreading flies.

5. You made your back a parchment torn apart -
There, pens of writing secretaries.

6. By Allah, there is no hardship, affectation,
No pompous authority, or liberation.

7. And they have no profit in your rotten smell
Unless you bribe them with dinars.
