1. If he who makes the simile is skillful
And apt in weaving praiseful lines of verse,
١. إذا أجادَ الذي يُشبِّهُهُ
وأحكَم الوصفَ فيه بالنَّعْتِ
2. He'll say, 'These globes of leather have been stuffed
With flakes of steel all burnished by the forge.'
٢. قال كُرَاتُ الأديم قد حُشِيَتْ
بسِمْسِمٍ قُمِّعَتْ بكَيْمَخْتِ
