1. I think you are one who has long delayed my reward,
You would be pleased if fortunes turned against me,

2. When the money I hoped for comes my way,
It is made accessible to others instead of me,

3. And I am given excuses for money coming from another source, at another time,
So my matter has no other end, ever,

4. You wait for me to get some paltry money,
As if any money could be paltry from you!

5. If I compose a poem praising you,
With polished verses flowing,

6. You allot me from any money you acquire,
Its measly portions, as if I were a butcher,

7. There is a great difference between me and you,
In what of my praises and rewards you choose,

8. And not for amusement, but for trysts and meetings
Delayed until it was said they were lost,

9. If fulfilling promises is so burdensome,
Then excuses before that would be best,
