1. People claim that good fortune has but one star,
Or two stars at most, and no more.
١. زعم الناس أن للسَّعْدِ نَجْماً
واحداً لا يزيدُ أَوْ نَجْمَيْنِ
2. But wait, I said, the sun and the moon will meet,
And so how many stars of good fortune will rise?
٢. قلتُ مهلاً ستلتقي الشمس والبد
رُ فكَمْ يُطْلِعانِ من سَعْدين
3. The Imam will soon encounter
The daughter of his Master, Lord of the Two Maghrebs.
٣. سَتُلاقِي الإمامَ عمَّا قليلٍ
بنتُ مولاه سيِّدِ المَغْربَين
4. And she will grant the Imam much happiness -
All her joy belongs to the Imam, delight of her eye.
٤. وسيُعطَى الإمَامُ منها سعوداً
كلها للإمام قُرَّةُ عَيْنِ
