1. If after my anger you appeased me,
Offering me wealth out of nothingness,

2. I would implore my Lord to change me,
From the little you gave, O you of generosity!

3. And eating your flesh would be hatred
More healing than remedies for scabies.

4. I gloated yesterday at your wickedness.
So gloating at you is better than smiling amiably!

5. Or you are my health and well-being,
So I fled from being near you to illness!

6. If you were youth to me, a nose,
I would flee from being near you to old age!

7. May Allah not bless your handiworks -
