1. The birds chirped in the gardens and cried,
Complaining of love and passion with sighs,

Of flowers, their fragrance it lent.

3. We sat together on the dew and drew near,
A maiden drew close, her temple graced with grey hair.

4. A noble girl who brings joy to the generous,
Her radiance lit up the wine glasses fair.

5. She brought us comfort and delight,
How could she not, she makes gladness take flight.

6. Whenever darkness descended upon us,
And we lit a lamp for her light.

7. She shone in the cups like the sun at night,
We thought the evening from her was sunrise bright.
