1. My eyes, this is the spring of tears, so prepare
And afflict me with an undefended affliction

2. It particularly hit the Imam, and included all the people
A tragedy for the life of mortals, not to be restored

3. The mother of the Imam was struck, and he witnessed it
With no protector against the course of fate

4. Indeed, a foreordained extent which shattered her
Impenetrable, mighty back, not to be subdued

5. If a pounding misfortune were to strike us
It would not shake the people of merit and good

6. The wailing of the mother of the Commander of the Faithful towards
A house in Mecca, so the plain is inhabited

7. The wailing of the caregiver of good deeds to her flock
For every weak one in the land of Rome imprisoned

8. And for the turmoil of the frontiers which have long borne
Their daughters to the prepared barracks

9. The lands of righteousness have become desolate
Estranged from them, unrecognizing the era of intimacy and light

10. Let one who yearned to reach her weep for her
Until ease was exchanged with hardship

11. And let one whose intercessor she was weep for her
Who came to fear a sin not to be forgiven

12. And let one weep for the lack of any equal to her
Who perfected more than any good every interpretation

13. O spot predetermined for her grave in it
You were specified for sanctification and purification

14. No harm that you be not a fragrant garden
Of delicate light, splendid with flowers

15. Your side has become distinguished over a grave
Of righteous angels in attendance

16. May the greetings of God, most pure and fragrant
Be upon the confidants whose light is manifest in you

17. Has not sleep become denied to her
With the remembrance of a day over days recalled

18. A day you did not witness happier than it
Nor did more auspicious omens dawn upon it

19. To God we belong and to Him we return, what the affliction left
For us of unbroken resolve

20. And that after she passed
The soul of the Imam remains for us safe from every danger
