1. May you be blessed with goodness and bounty,
And may they not abandon you,

2. O son of those whose glory towered,
Reaching as high as aspirations climb.

3. When I hoped I could take shelter
In the powerful Emir's might,

4. My home was demolished though in my hands
Were promissory notes and pacts from you.

5. After the exiled one had wandered it,
And some said its demise was forbidden,

6. If destruction has reached its pinnacle,
I still see it formidable through you.

7. When the clouds shadow its outline,
It thunders with suppressed lightning.

8. Oh my longing that injustice befell me
Yet my wrongdoer feels no regret.

9. How can I give a fair response
To one making a claim? How can I smile?

10. The son of Abu Kamil has accused me,
Is this the practice of a loyal servant?

11. And what consoled and delighted me
Was the fire of anguish kindling in him.

12. Failing to uphold the Emir's covenant
Without a decisive sword piercing his veins,

13. And filling my house and my master's right-
The greatest man of glory and nobility is forbidden.

14. They scream the name of the Emir for a while,
And another time they fall silent.

15. If they but heard me scream his name,
It would shake the honorable throne.

16. Darkness is illuminated through him.
So let whatever pleases the eye befall the servant,

17. And burning resentment and illness be cured.
Afterwards, the servant obeys his master,

18. Judge as you wish, and the words are complete.
My belief, rather my certainty, in the Emir's justice

19. Is that he will avenge me.
