2. About the brilliant star in every gathering
About the shining bead in every situation

3. About the divided Qasim, his gifts nourish people
If a ruler's soul is not satisfied with his kingdom

4. About the son of Sulayman ibn Wahb, the noble youth
Despite the hatred of ignorant, vain fools

5. Delightful is he who is nicknamed Al-Hussein, a Muslim
Beauty and benevolence belong to him, all smiles

6. Minister of the Crown Prince and son of his minister
Brother of glory, arranger of intertwined affairs

7. Through him the tribulation of kingship is uncovered elegantly
Refined and innocent towards the sword-makers

8. If ambiguity concealed the face of realities
He threw off its cover with striking blades

9. In hard times he rushes to his resolves
Drawing swords from them like attacking swords

10. With strategy he battles every hardship
Vanquishing it, its pillars have no firmness in battle

11. A noble whose fame's scent spread and whose generosity poured forth
A weeping grateful one rejoices with laughter

12. In a downpour of beneficial rain may he be well
And in pouring of musk may he be perfumed

13. Shrewd and pure, the meadows bear witness with continual rain
Lush, and the meadows bear witness with good scent

14. The gleam of mankind calls to his chastity
So they came and he granted despite thorns

15. Hands were emptied, enriched by his praise
And mouths were emptied of sweet discourse

16. I say to an asker ignorant of him
You have transgressed, it is time for returning

17. Imagine the lamps of the sky to be necklaces
And compose the like thereof with pure necklaces

18. A noble whose virtues facilitated his pardons
So the profound meanings saddened the night companions

19. One whose partners increased in his wealth
Became few in his noble deeds and sharing

20. A noble who cares not when preserving his glory
If his wealth perishes in disasters

21. He has a cool calmness whose water pours forth
Unlike the water of the face from him, it has no pourer

22. Kissing the back of the palm, gifting its inside
Gifts unlike the mean, despicable ones

23. He brings people to kiss it, for it is
Salvation for them, rather protection from ruin

24. We carry hopes to Qasim's door
So they return, blessed possessions

25. He granted me what would revive every affiliate
And I have written what every writer would vivify

26. So I deprived him of praising the worthless
And he deprived me of providing the cupped hands

27. What spring showering has it from cajolers?
What blossoming meadow from lovers?

28. I devoted myself, love, and support to him
Even if the edge of a shining sword struck my face

29. I say to those who tasted his sublimity
Yet the green one with bracelets exhausted them

30. Leave the Family of Wahb to the noble deeds, they are
Remnants of seizing nights that remain

31. People who govern the country and its people
With strong pillars and soft bracelets

32. Nobles whom when people became their captives
For us became laughers, for us like smiles

33. The people wish they could buy their months
With the conditions of years other than theirs, struck by decay

34. A false witness for the ungrateful son of a nightingale
So I said to him, you have transgressed, the most transgressing of the dazzlers

35. I was among those who praised him except I was forced
To share with the forced against my will

36. Nothing prevented me except promises the winds of ordeals
Swept away. But yes he did prevent me, had I thanked

37. A prevention of reward, when I praised him
When I was worthy of the defiant, ruling sword

38. It is not rejoicing, but a testimony I hold
I will fulfill its right, not neglecting

39. I am not one to eat rotten meat
But for it I have a chew, not neglecting

40. If my hands firmly grasp the handhold of Qasim
I will not perish at the turning of time

41. We saw every pardon and attainment as deficient
We heard their two mentioned in proverbs

42. Qasim saved me from the stumbling of fate
With whatever I wished of his pursuing virtues

43. So I came to prosper, fruitful in days
And I came to glory, strong in life

44. A noble whose grants preoccupied him from asking
Swift grants for those nearing requests

45. For the gladdened faces are no criterion
Nor the veiled innermost thoughts any interpreter

46. A noble I will not call youthful for novelty
But for those striking qualities, defender

47. Qualities that refused but to avenge their neighbor
From fate, either saddle-bags bite with teeth

48. He jokes duringplayfulness in spending his money
And in pursuing truth he is no joker

49. An asker about Qasim and his place
So I said the sublimities are there

50. Generous whom his actions fulfill his lineage
And of lineage in the family of Sasan interwoven

51. I remain shaded when I behold a day of his bliss
As if I were in Paradise above the couches

52. In sight of a beautiful, heard world
With a just king, not domineering

53. Facing a bright, radiant, white face
Like a full moon amidst arranged stars

54. My admiration intensified facing him
And with amber underneath like shields

55. Fruits wherein are scents and tastes
Repelling the affection of graceful, rushing women

56. If plants were absent, his scattering would revive them
With scattering of musk atop vessels

57. By my soul and family that blessed face
Receives the most faithful gratitude, blessed

58. The beautiful singers stir up his goblets
With praise of him which has spread through all paths

59. For him excitement sways every inspired one
While his enjoyments are like ritual

60. He has a gathering that does not cease to be headed
With the best of ostrich eggs amidst the sand grouse

61. Therein singers sing to us, pleasing him
With verses of praise, not incompatible

62. Never have the beautiful praised a benefactor
With praise like influential, flowing praise

63. We witnessed him one day, delightful, covered
Setting up joys for us atop the platforms

64. For Umm Ali a thrush therein, intimate
Of the eye like an eye, lined with kohl

65. Of the clear complexion, lips as if
Speaking with gazelle mouths, shying

66. They raise voices gently and sometimes
Murmur subtly, not the whisper of conspirators

67. They tilted for us when they lined up before us
With sending away guests of black sorrows

68. She does but send wondrous matters to us
Wondrous matters raining upon every vessel and devotee

69. A Turkish girl who shoots arrows
Hitting the target in symmetry, not in battle

70. As if the melody of singers lent her
Its spirit and rhyme of weeping laughers

71. A garden, a garden delighting our eyes
With its lanterns therein laughing

72. Singing and a delicate adorned face both
Stirring the emotions of the composed

73. We shaded a monument there our hearts doubt
With that charming spirit, not with the stars

74. No blamer can disparage her stature
Nor the transgressor intend a sounder path

75. A gentle slender one leaning her lute
Against a star on the field of the chest's sky

76. Her composure calmed regarding the tall ones
And reared regarding the short lively ones

77. A dancer with drum and cymbals, alluring
Possessing the melody of Maghnatis and provocation of youth

78. Opportunity was afforded her body: grants of grants
And if it touched her waist: melting of melting

79. When she stood up in the rows her teeth shone baring
A cast ingot in the field of the mouth's mold

80. The name of fiddler goes beyond the name of flirt
A name designated by you with your perspectives

81. Those names and their bearers were all ransomed
The adornment of God's land after necklaces

82. Faces like days of joy resembling for us
Wild cows like the seizing nights

83. Captives to whom our minds' wits were taken captive
Rulers who ruled the might of kingdoms

84. Pleasures between manifestation and withdrawal to the bosom
And between constriction of the ascetics

85. Sweethearts who shed blood yet you see
No care from them for pouring tears

86. When they decide on parting, we are all
Sorrowful for those circling suns

87. Qasim, you leave nothing yet take nothing
You refuse and take nothing, yet leave nothing

88. So leave me not, oh noble, exposed
To a fate that leaves the noble not leaving
