1. I ask of my Lord for Qasim naught
But an abiding permanence

2. And so too, I desire of him
Only permanence with his presence

3. That suffices me as happiness,
Wherein lies safety from misery

4. It protects from animosity
And delights companions amicably

5. Then God will grant him even more
Of the highest level of ascent

6. And grant me from His rainclouds
His relief that defeats thirst

7. A king, as if created for him
After much searching and selection

8. His health is a veil of protection
His wealth, a shield against transgression

9. The fragrance of his praise precedes him
And its breeze comes before meeting him

10. How often have I found his kindness
And from it drank without drawing it

11. How often has his benevolence visited me
Even before a promise to meet

12. Is there any loyalty equal to his
That truly fulfills loyalty?
