For he remains sharp against those who accompany him,

2. And the family of Makhlad were tried by him,
With trials unlike any trials before,

3. An ominous and bloody red planet,
Bringing misfortune to his companions, piercing to the people,

4. Does not Mars resemble him in his actions?
For the resemblance of evil deeds, the resemblance is close,

5. I seek refuge in God’s might, that He not place me
And him together on the open earth side by side,

6. The likeness of Qudár, rather Qudár is his likeness,
And if it is said “Kallím” or if it is said “Kátib”,

7. And do people vie in the misfortune of a writer
Whose eyes are the color of the sword, and the sword a striker?

8. And his father is called Tálib, and it is enough
For you an ill omen, that death pursues him,

9. So flee from Tálib and the son of Tálib,
For the likes of them, like them, have fled escaping.
