1. An old hag was married to our sheikh
Adorned with a gown and veil

2. She averts her eyes demurely
Seeing naught but oxen

3. Time has rained misfortunes on her
And she has rained misfortunes on time

4. Her spells once circulated
In sorrow and plain, every house

5. Surly on the road she is led
In every valley and every barren land

6. She has shod her shoes with a husband
And wrapped her head with a veil

7. She claims her spell brings healing
From all cold and all fever

8. And our sheikh guards her honor
In every state and every occasion

9. Her livelihood preys on him
When earnings twist every path

10. Until she lies with him at night
And greets his organs with hers

11. She extends to his cheek a tongue
That is but the tripe of an ox

12. And swallows his member in a rear
That is but the grime of a mule

13. So the justice from her is tyranny
May God destroy her, what tyranny

14. And his state is maidens after crones
In that neither crones nor maidens

15. I bear witness if you do not depart and be gone
You will dwell with Kaka'i son of Shaur

16. You will soon inhabit the earth
Or you will die behind a wall
