11. You are a downpour that awakens life in us
For the downpour's life could hardly awaken

12. If your kindness was a gentle virtue
Then the covenant of gratitude for it is harsh

13. From you come my wine cup and spear
And my feathers and provision for war

14. What can I say, O you who beyond praise
Is emphasis and re-emphasis in praise

15. You were perfected by God before any praise
What can praise add to you?

16. People struggle to match you in glory
But the core truth escapes that effort

17. Poetry flowed in your praise yet fell short
Neither polished nor exaggerated the reality

18. You are sweet and bitter and cannot be
Fully grasped - bitterness has an edge

19. Gentle when caressed in gatherings
Rough when clenched in fists

20. Forbearing when blamed by the vile
Your honor protected by wise advice

21. Bearing burdens without being brash
Grateful for your gifts without conceit

22. So wear your age fully and thwart
Those who wish you low and hold you dear

Indignant at indignities, your belly filled
