1. Religion, knowledge, blessings and honor

2. Supported by four pillars
To them the deprived and weak take refuge

3. O Abul Ali, for a man there is none
Other than you if we become frightened and lack shelter

4. I complain to you of successive darkness
From one who is not known for injustice and tyranny

5. My hopeful one, who I face adversities with
Has become one whose injustice is excess

6. Continuous is his bad opinion of me
And I have no previous misfortune

7. Except praises, their caravan does not cease
Every day, a new intention is launched

8. And service that preceded the days of his rule
The like of which no intimate relation, if counted, precedes

9. I exerted myself for him when the faces of all people
Turned towards the prosperous side

10. I have not stopped riding my feet to meet him
Neither travel nor work preoccupies me from him

I give him companionship in his days of loneliness

12. While I have patience, appeasement and agreeableness
I do not ask him for more nor seek what he has

13. Nor do I waver though I am flung about in the land
Until Allah opens victories for him

14. I almost got snatched wrongfully without cause
Injustice singled me out without reason

15. And I have no impartiality if I seek justice
Dark clouds gathered without

16. Any clearing but your face, after Allah
You have not ceased, O son of Badr, to be a full moon

17. Whose light appears to those in the encampments
Ransom my state, whatever improves it

18. For my state is that of an ill person
Speak to my master with kind words

19. For the generous, when appealed to, are generous
And my fate is not but to abandon me

20. Without any intimacy or kindness from him
I have no desire to depart from the one I orbit

21. But my soul when it inclines away
And I am clear-sighted, penetrating of eye

22. That none can compare to him
But he has generally acted justly and loyally

23. Yet singled me out for mismeasuring and swindling
And I clench my fists at him

24. And my fate when it tries me
And if he leaves me any share from his companions

25. Out of a need that settled in the soul and sadness
To whoever backbit me, I said

26. Do not let petty matters distract you from your works
My master, there is no compensation or replacement for him

27. And fate, there is no compensation or replacement for it
This, the sermon has been delivered by a youth

28. But it is only half in its collectedness
And I have come to you like one seeking

29. In an important matter, pure preserved water
For me there is no turning away from you, O son of Badr

30. Nor my love and gratitude straying from you
And how can I oppose you

31. When there is no disagreement about your renowned virtue
So prepare for the wounds of fate, if you prepare for them

32. Growth, provision, or else it will be pillaged
O you, if the oppressed seeks refuge in you

33. You fight for him with honor and zeal
O you, if fate oppresses, you redress for him

34. Until satisfied, while tolerant and forbearing
No eagle in its highest strongholds

35. Nor predatory bird in its grasp was set free
One day, in my inaccessibility when you make me inaccessible

36. To each stubborn and deaf ear
Lower before me armors when I become a burden

37. And the white, the eggs, the fine, and the coarse
For I am formidable when you grant me victory

38. And in you, when fate transgresses, is redress
O you furthest of people in understanding when we fathom you

39. And closest of people in understanding when we draw from you
You have become an ocean of melody, not yet fully drawn upon

40. Met by an ocean of praise, not yet fully drawn upon
So cast, with constant streaming stars, what jewelry they have

Be to me as you were to all who sought you

42. Your abode is still frequented by the hopeful
Say to the generous clan of Wahb, our strongholds

43. Words by which he willingly concedes and acknowledges
O people of justice, scales when you judge

44. And weighers when the pans sway
O clan of Wahb, may God make your rule endure

45. You have treated me well, no fear or dismay
Until you became for the hopes of mankind a direction

46. To which they adhere for eternity
So what is your powerless slave among you

47. As if for the aims of his fate, a target?
While you are the towering palm by which

48. The roots and branches are watered and blessed
My hopes have not ceased being deferred

49. And in you now for the sheep is pasture
So if the archer missed his mark on me

50. Let not his thorny arrows strike me
My matter and yours is obvious to the wise

51. Held aloft before all eyes
By God, by God, do not destroy my good deeds
