1. O messenger, O friend of correspondence, do not
Write about the incident which has just occurred

2. Of a fart that betrayed its farter thereby
Exposing and disgracing a dainty young man

3. If you do not inform the Imam about it
You would be like one who betrayed or one who broke a pact

4. Do not modestly avoid talking about it
For the occasion calls for speaking plainly

5. How fragrant was that fart, though it stank
And perhaps some foul things are fragrant

6. While you were at the minister's, making
A speech, when that fart categorically denied foulness

7. Make light of that which you were afflicted by
For it was an immodest fart that blew away restraint

8. Take off the mask of shame, for
Among the people of our time, it has become effeminate

9. The orator's mockery has been unleashed, so
He did not mumble or show concern

10. Consider it one of Ahmad's melodies when
He farts randomly in every sitting

11. Or Ibn Maymun's when he farts ignorantly
And they do not care about the foulness of flatulence

12. A mule and a mule, one farts at another
May Allah not bless those carcasses

13. I asked about them and was told
They are prophets of farting, commissioned
