1. O you who has an independent honor
And whose generosity is fathomless

2. And O you who illuminates like the radiant morning sun
By which we are guided

3. With that beautiful face of yours, comply
In action with me and listen to what bores

4. For who is like you to inspire deeds
The generous palms won't stop giving

5. Do I quiver on lush paper
When your servant owns no shade

6. And has committed no sin you see
Clearly nor one who slips like him

7. If you say he fell short in his duty
Then he is the negligent one, the derelict one

8. But your pardon is a pardon that fits
When your will is a will that awes

9. And I provoke you, O you in whom
Is my defense against rumors that may shadow

10. But your suspicion of me does not
Stay the worst of suspicions or freer

11. And until we present what you do not
Doubt that I, with it, will not stray

12. There you will be certain that I am the loyal one
And that I am the loving one and the reverent one

13. If you make me virtuous
Then you count on my gratitude that I delay

14. And does the memory of a good deed and anguish meet
In my good soul

15. With your stinginess towards me, how long
My masters, will you not wet

16. And waste one like me, which is not right
And Allah hates what is not right

17. Are you pleased that wealth
Is your servant's enemy and poverty his shade

18. That if a man gains prestige
I have one who is wronged and one who is disgraced

19. Your anger will flood its seekers
And your sword will spare no unjust aggressor

20. Can your grace not suffice a servant
When you control the affairs of the people without question

21. And my seed flows like a running stream
And know that I am a stream that deluges

22. I boast praise you know
That little of it is diminished

23. So join me in what protects me
For your company is a sheltering company

24. And honor your friend, for an ugly friend
Is a friend who is humiliated

25. And do not drive me to disgrace
Emptily for affection is leaning

26. And your forbearance is the choicest intercessor for me
When the intercessor is bored with interceding

27. If you are gentle, you meet the question
With a face that welcomes the stalled

28. For I do not have with you
The tools of the supplicant, a leaning, supplicating tool

29. Why not when you are vast in your care
An ocean that everything weighted leans to

30. You see praise disseminating a fragrance that scents
And money that folds a clothing that stitches

31. And you consider my gratitude that stands alone
Above your stream that never runs dry
