1. I implore you by God, do not deny the favors you bestowed on us
O son of two viziers, or else you would betray our hopes

Yours are the merits, so do not give them a tongue

18. I wore the garment of deep ignorance – robe me
With wisdom, O epitome of splendor

19. Do not be angered by an unintentional sin
On the loyalty that you have deemed as comfort

20. Fulfill promises whose covenants have been made
With covenants tied – for breaking them is cursed

21. And know that the witnesses of poetry have testified
Early on, and the conscience of glory has guaranteed

22. O you, praise of whom, when told, gives me
Glory, which I did not procure from here or there

23. And when your favors stand for me
Then I do not care whether rain comes or not

24. Do not abandon a friend except for an outrage
The noble one sees his intimates as homeland

25. Unleash my shyness of you to restrain you
And do not unleash worries and grief upon me

26. Behold, I asked your forgiveness and bonus
So do not be like the mean who asks for loans

27. And let not my enviers say I prayed to an idol
I was only praying to God, not an idol

28. Be amazed at the request of a fervent longing delayed
By favor, despite ability that equipped us

29. Had I been reasonable, I would not have sought bonus
Nor wept, when you banished me, out of grief

30. Your anger alone troubles and saddens me
Nothing else, even if its weight is immense

31. Because of your disapproval, I am busy with none other
It drives away the pain from my eyes and ear

32. Had I despaired of censure and its tribulations
I would not have cared if fate frowned or laughed

33. But my soul promises me a return
And perhaps the matter I desire is near

34. I was not turned away from hoping in you
Even if you treat a sin with a sin that shelters us

35. In hoping despite sin there is pardon
From the firm in their judgment, a favor from us

36. Had I been aware, the sin would have been, at that point

44. I followed your pulling willingly, not like an errant camel

45. What is beyond my overt affection is overt goodness
Though what is even better than it is hidden within

46. As for us, we have sound opinions of you
So do not consider them mere whims and tribulations

47. And you made an accusation's claim a reason
So do not prove the claim when it accuses

48. Do not let my allegiance or praise be lost on you
For I know you as one who dislikes loss

49. Do not neglect virtue, O son of the virtuous - the laws
Laid it down and traditions solicited it

50. A people whose favors extended to their heels
