1. I complain of parting to the tryst,
And to the ruins wakeful lamentations,

2. And to the night-walk my agony,
And to patience unavailing my plaint,

3. And unto Him to whom I was enthralled
By the casting down of my glance long my yearning,

4. And I folded my heart upon my cheek
When she folded her hand from my clasp.

5. Have patience: for perchance this parting
May bring us together sometime in nearness and concord.
