1. Longing blazed in my inner self and was disturbed
And sorrow and worries have poured whenever

2. I swear by God, can longing be healed?
For tears have been shed for separation between us

3. Or for the couple to be disconnected from loved ones
And grief has overwhelmed the heart with passions

4. Indeed, hope is the spirit of spirits, so it rejoiced
And whatever sorrows attacked it were dispelled

5. Then I perceived these sorrows so they flared up
And ignited again in the inner self, burning

6. That one in prose and verse had promised
To travel and to return, as he claimed

7. And the nightingale of mind after rejoicing intended
From a desolate valley to home, so it spoke

8. And how much did it shed from the eyelids constantly
If not for hope, tears would have run dry after weeping

9. So now, inflamed in the heat of sorrows
Was one who was well-composed in the comfort of rest

10. And now disheveled in describing ruins
Was one who was smiling in the rapture of joys

11. And longing is ignited in the core of loved ones
If that was in the heart of a brother, it would not speak

12. But he did not have in his heart the fervor
Of intense separation, so the beloved imagined

13. Thus longing inflames one who has passion in the heart
And yearning perturbs a heart that love has grown
