1. I see all that Allah has decreed to be written
And there is no escape for the Master

2. A judgement from the Most Merciful, Majestic is His Glory
And what the Most Merciful decrees, no doubt will prevail

3. By my life, the Imam has fulfilled them all
Hoping for what he wants and desires from them

4. He strove his utmost to absolve us of our sins
And established ways to get closer to that

5. So his Master rewarded him with contentment and recompensed him
With the best recompense for the one who draws near

6. Oh you whose glory, generosity and darkness have risen high
Your affection, what has made it veiled from you

7. We will explain some of what has happened of our news
Besides what has passed of what we have recorded as written

8. And when those nights which
He hopes from them what he wants and seeks have passed

9. For eight nights sickness befell us
Tying bandages over our eyes and blindfolding

10. I did not see anything of what I had seen before
With its movement from his hand and aiming

11. And my eyes became clouded and reddened
With irritants floating over them and obscuring

12. From the sadness for the eyes and the blindfold and the sorrow
And the passing of what had been hurting and stabbing

13. And he put off for five days, and each night
He tries to remove irritants that disappear and go away

14. But his attempts to uncover what he tries
And everything he aspires and seeks were of no use

15. Then he inclined them again while they were ill
And intense anxiety gripped me and flooded me

16. He turned them over after hitting them three times
Increasing the water over them until it drained out

17. The redness of the eye flowed out with medicine
And its burning heat was intense and blazing

18. And blood flowed from them because of hitting them
And overturning them with medication whenever he struck

19. And the burning remained constant in my eyes with the medicine
By my God for an hour while it stabbed

20. And after the solution for the eyes, Uthman saw
And noticed what he saw when he hit

21. Except that there had been more intense redness
Rising over his eyes and covering them

22. And many irritants on them
And swelling of the eyelid that hurt and stung

23. So he overturned them with medication that he drank
With that painful medicine when it spilled over

24. And we remained in that condition every evening
With him coming to us with drops and leaving

25. A delicious, cool medicine that had no harm in it
Except sadness for them when they were blindfolded

26. Until three weeks passed from when he hit them
Counting and reckoning

27. So he said to Uthman, after this you will see
In two days what had been written in the scriptures

28. But as for me, my condition is that my complaint
And what I hoped for and sought

29. Remained unchanged until twenty days passed and the eye was blindfolded
I sleep but then scarcely

30. Hold back for a moment, my head throbbing from the eye medicine
And I had hoped for wellness and healing before

31. And God is near to what is good
Yet here I am hoping and anticipating

32. From God what I hope for and seek
But this has only increased my illness

33. And malady besides what I hoped would go away
So this is what has worried and distressed me

34. To expect His grace
And to seek His pardon for what I have sinned

35. And wellness from what persists and stabs
Patience has left me because I

36. Saw my situation was distressed
Neither has speech increased except with affectation

37. Nor sleep except briefly whenever I toss and turn
