1. Learn, for in learning is noble virtue
The sincere heart yearns for it, blessed

2. Among them is the pleasure of God and Heaven
And triumph and everlasting might

3. And from the throng of ignorance, if you are truthful
With your knowledge you are saved, my brother, and excel

4. So be a seeker of knowledge, if you are resolute
And beware if you seek guidance, to transcend

5. For in knowledge is what you desire of every wish
And its seeker with light and truth shines

6. If you seek station, ascent and rank
In knowledge is what guides you to it, and captivates

7. And if you seek money, its earning was in knowledge
So win contentment and choose what is most proper

8. And excel in the two abodes in consequence and ascendance
So hurry, for I speak truly and validate

9. And in ignorance before death is death for its people
And on the day of meeting, a fire that blazes and burns away
