1. Who are they who have trampled the soil
And filled the face of earth with torment

2. Each day they knock on a door
And take the flowing time by surprise

3. They distort eternity and youth
And shape its leaping magic

4. Be they regretful of past companions
Or befriended beasts and wolves

5. It's all the same, they meet their fate in shrouds
Or suckle its gifts like babes

6. Existence around them turns into mirage
And its magic becomes torment for them

7. Its fire poured for them as drink
Wherever they stayed they saw ruin

8. And met worries and tribulations
And gloomy, billowing gloom and haze

9. And blame that knows no remorse
Nor tastes regret's bitterness

10. Wherever they roamed they saw barriers
And darkness that does not lift its veil

11. Its uncertain folds closed upon them
And its refuges were lost within it

12. Glory to Him who scattered them into ravines
And destined wandering as punishment for them

13. Woe to them, they worshipped the soil
And deified pebbles as lords

14. And sanctified scripture of lies from it
Scattering their prayers like flocks

15. In every land that seeks prayer niches
And watches greedily where gold has gone

16. Were it to glitter with meteors
And be buried in the clouds' lightning

17. Sin would sneak from their bodies
And kiss doors and thresholds

18. Baring robes from its shrines
Lost in the madness of passion

19. Palestine offered them wide spaces
And ample room for their guest

20. But they sucked poison and mischief for it
Perplexing minds with their plight

21. It sent against them its conquering sword
So it fuels them in its blazing fire

22. Bewilderment will be their steed
As they leave God and Bedouins behind
