1. A ride where jinn make music
Before this generation since time immemorial

2. And a fog where water traveled through
Its waves drowned except the dams

3. So it is dead, water played with it
In a torrent its floods numbered

4. I took refuge in an ancient temple
Neither deceitful nor stingy

5. Leading ahead of a past nation
Neither fickle nor evasive

6. Nobles of endeavor from a lineage
That leaves the world and looks to the future

7. They dispel ignorance in their gathering
As they are supporters of the eternal wise one

8. Detained in the abode until they make way
For seeking glory or leaving contention

9. Open-handed in poverty, generous in riches
Elders of white hair, annihilators of spears
