يا خائفا من ذنوب ظنها عظمت

1. O you who fear the sins you imagine to be grave
God is greater, even loftier than greatness

١. يا خائِفاً مِن ذُنوبِ ظَنِّها عَظِمتُ
اللَهَ أَعظَمَ بَل أَعلى مِنَ العَظمِ

2. Ma'mun son of Harun, the sweetness of pardon has led him
To forgive even a criminal, if he comes to him

٢. مَأمونُ هارونُ قَد أَدَّتهُ عَن شَغَفٍ
حَلاوَةَ العَفوِ إِن يُؤتي بِمُجتَرِمِ

3. And that slave, he has a soul that tempts him
And the soul always incites to evil and vengeance

٣. وَذاكَ عَبدٌ لَهُ نَفسٌ تُراوِدُهُ
وَالنَفسُ أَمّارَةً بِالسوءِ وَالنَقَمِ

4. So how would the Merciful, the Compassionate One whose mercy
Encompasses all with bounty and nobility treat you?

٤. فَكَيفَ بِالراحِمِ الرَحمَنِ مَن وَسِعَت
لِلكُلِّ رَحمَتُهُ بِالفَضلِ وَالكَرَمِ

5. Think good thoughts of Him, for with forgiveness you will meet Him without sin

٥. فَظَنَّ خَيراً بِهِ وَاِجزُ بِمَغفِرَةٍ
فَعِندَ ظَنِّكَ تَلقاهُ بِلا جُرمِ
