1. The ignorant men have argued with me
And I argued back for a whole year
١. لَقَد خَاصَمَتنِي دُهَاةُ الرِّجَالِ
وَخَاصَمتُهَا سَنَةً وافِيَه
2. Yet God did not refute any of my proofs
Nor did God disappoint any of my rhymes
٢. فَمَا أدحضَ اللهُ لي حُجَّةً
وَلا خَيَّبَ اللهُ لي قَافِيَه
3. And whoever I fear injustice from in judgment
I do not fear you, O healing one
٣. ومن خِفتُ جَورِهِ في القَضَاءِ
فَلَستُ أخَافُكَ يَا عَافِيَه
