1. Indulge in pleasures before they pass you by,
Come let us neglect, for time betrays.

2. As for dignity, never let it
Hinder the steps of my feet.

3. I'm the brother of joy, I live to delight,
So that time reels from my pleasures.

4. Truthfully drunken, by the Lord of Mohammed,
I'm the brother of joy, the boy of taverns.

5. I pour and drink them, and I know they are
Filth, the work of the damned transgressor.

6. But in them are benefits for people
That may unite the estranged after separation.
