1. If the prince is remembered, the trustee has passed
And if the intimate one sleeps, the eyelids are feverish

2. And the dwellings in my vision have not moved
And whenever sorrows are stirred for me

3. The yard of the King is empty, tottering
In it the spirits weave wonders

4. Time betrays the glory of its dweller
Playing with the early generations

5. So it scattered their group after they assembled
And I was, in their beauty, intimate with them

6. So I have not seen beauty like theirs after them
Nor have the eyes of onlookers seen them

7. So alas and though the enemies may gloat
And ah for the Commander of the Faithful

8. After you, your followers have lost propriety
And it has been lifted from the mounts of the covetous

9. And towards your side, every day
Laments the good fortune and transgresses

10. He is the mountain which glories fell for
For its firmness, and the crop of the righteous

11. After you the world will mourn a neighbor
And after you, the protected religion will mourn

12. For you have taken away the gladness of everything
And religion has returned, spurned and disgraced

13. The glory of unbroken ties to Chosroes is tied
And its kingdom, while the Muslims are humiliated
