1. The imam's anger is harsher than his grace
And I have incurred and suffered from his anger

2. I have become one who seeks refuge in al-Mu'tasim
Whom God praised in His books

3. No, by Him who left me no cause
To hope for salvation but through his cause

4. I have no intercessor other than his sanctity
And everyone he healed of their affliction
