1. God's peace be upon you, O Yahya, among the living
And the right for one who has died in love to live again

2. And one who has not died in love, O self and passion
Has counted himself among the dead though he be among the living

3. So strip yourself of the husk of ordinariness
And die, that you may live on in death and life

4. And strive to behold the face of pure truth
Revealed in the beauty of divine effulgence through the Sublime Word

5. That you may enter the Gardens of Witnessing
And pluck the fruits of supreme delight, though you are in this world

6. For there is no essence but The Essence unfolding
Through the Names and Qualities of Truth by which all things arise

7. Polish your mirror that it may reflect
The beauty of the Manifest through the Unveiling Eye

8. I have granted you guidance on the path and after this
God's peace be upon you, O Yahya, among the living.
