1. My master, inspire my mouth to eloquently
Speak on your blessed birthday

2. Inspire my mouth to sincerely express to you
Sweet as honey, not falsely syrupy

3. O exalted king, unparalleled in status
Amongst kings, O most precious tribe

4. O descendant of Quraish, the Hashemites preceded
Generations with honor, so generation after generation

5. They traced your lineage to fine stallions who
Ever sacrificed a martyr of dignity

6. God bless you, you formidable, humble one
A young hawk the doves murmur about

7. Your generosity brings the distant one near
And befriends the despairing and hopeful one

8. O inspired interlocutor of life’s issues
And of what has inspired the responsible one

9. The light of genius guides him as though
He extracts its hidden secret

10. He climbs mountains of difficulties they climb with him
And paves easy roads for those descending

11. He turns over the delusive world but does not see
In it what benefits the deluded one

12. O curer of bodily illnesses with your medicine
Manliness refuses to be an invalid

13. I am among the heartfelt supplicants to their Lord
To never show you disfavor or contempt

14. And the female supplicants are with me, the ways of a nation
Whose precious one will not return humiliated

15. You have illuminated its path and made it
An example for the wandering misguided one

16. And instilled in it reason without
Hesitation or expecting praise

17. My master, and the conscience has a message
Rushing to you that the conscience carries

18. Excuse my audacity oh Hashimite
And accept my candid words

19. O descendant of those in whose homes
The chapters of the Book were revealed and recited

20. Bearing the weight of the trust
Without leaning or swerving

21. Veiling ignorance with darkness
And shedding the light of guidance

22. Making their homes and tombs
A guide to the generous

23. The virtues of Hashim strengthened your determination
The chastity of Khadija and Fatima grew you

24. And the solicitude of your ancestors warmed you
Who cared for Hussein and Ja’far and Aqil

25. Filling the expanse of the Hejaz end to end
To visit them was never a childish whim

26. For the Shafi’is in both Easts
Yearning settled those who loved their homes

27. And they revisit its hills with kisses
O son of the Prophet, and kings have a message

28. Whoever fulfills it justly is an emissary
I swear by the One who granted you the greatest blessing

29. From your people, praise and esteem
That I was gladdened in your glory’s presence

30. When my ardent heart spilled over
And you refused favors upon your family

31. That do not abandon your populated abode
You marked me with nobility while the envious plot

32. With both I make the mediocre esteem the exceptional
And soon, my master, you will know

33. That I repay kindness with utmost kindness
