1. The sunset hastened to eclipse your dawn
And a ghoul plundered your promised youth

2. A familiar night circled your quarter and passed
The stars set but it does not set

3. The doves made you heavier, so you cannot wake
While the garden wakes though ruined by withering

4. Fate shared you with those you chose
As the afterglow is shared by the authentic red

5. By your life, the herd of disasters
Has a pasture and an enclosure in our plains

6. The living continues to follow the dead
Wishing he was his replacement

7. Delusions poison his meat
And a slight glimpse snatches his mind

8. Solitude bites him over memories
A drink from its severity, fierce

9. Alone at the battleground of nights
A group of afflictions fights him

10. He gets more thoughtful so he gets sadder
And complexes call for solutions

11. He evokes ghosts he had forgotten
So the killed kills him

12. I let out a burning sigh, so
A burning tear poured

13. Over two "moons" wrapped by a shroud
Being dragged over it, trailing sorrows

14. And another sweet, pleasant third
On whom the remnants of fate gather

15. What a majestic, mighty and horrendous stance
In its weightiness sways "the venerable Sheikh"!

16. Grief and beautiful patience contested his face
So it seemed gentle, awe-inspiring

17. I was astonished at him, some of it praise
Some of it wisdom, not useless

18. Is he from a chaste, honest lineage of “Na’oush”
Who moves to the left or right but does not lean?!

19. Manliness gets tested on a touchstone
Through which the fake and the authentic are filtered

20. When the soul has towering plains
And gentleness has spreading fields

21. A spirit roams them during adversity
And in “catastrophe” soft breezes blow

22. So do not distance “Mohammed” the purified
From the prayer of one trying the impossible

23. I remembered you so yearnings awoke
As if being away from me is their staying

24. Traits, all honourable and lofty
A soul, all decent and noble

25. A nature moulded from etiquette and subtlety
Fragrant like the scent of a shy flower

26. I started living the anguish of memories
An argument that does not deviate or soften

27. I follow what faded of seeing them
As one follows the beautiful star cluster

28. I secretly enjoy their personification
Since I existed guided in what I say

29. What pains me about them is more knowledge
And an ignorant man may be envied

30. Yesterday they were a lantern in my eye
Today they are embers in my liver

31. I say I protect them from suspicion
But the intruder refuses

32. No, by your father, I did not allow myself
To incline to any of them

33. I left my heart to be strained by longing
So a tearful eyelid sends its messengers

34. I treated anguish with new anguish
Though the doctor himself is the patient

35. Excess passion may be cured by passion
And the resentful gets cured by its heat

36. Many a worry was relieved by it
While blindness spread and curtains closed

37. Branches reconvene based on origins
Through offshoots their roots had put forth

I stood at the graves and there is in them

39. No beloved or sweet company
I said, surrendering, my tears welling:

40. The homes of loved ones are these mounds
I tell you, O Ibn Ahmad, warbles

41. With which the sincere friend converses
Do you know that your apparition does not disappear

42. Hovering, so the transient time creeps
With shadows embodying daughters of a day

43. An hour of them is worth a generation
And delusions a forlorn one uses them as company

44. They are good imaginations for one with a lively mind
An echo of a foot here, and whispered fluttering

45. There silence it, unknown panic
And a nest time has emptied

46. Huddled in it a swift young eagle
And tablets white like the dawn’s face

47. Darkened on them useless curiosities
And horses that raced lightning and almost won

48. But a brief moment betrayed them
And messages from the “knights” landing

49. Intercepted by an unleashed torrent
And “a female stranger” at a tomb and “elegy”

50. And soil with which the seminal fluid chokes
And the waft of hen’s ruffling, and smoke visions

51. On a hill, and a tinkling spring
And houri laughing at him, and a crowd

52. Of ducks, flocks of them all
And “blood” shedding on the two hillsides watering

53. Crops, and “the palm trees” straighten
And floods coloured red at sunset, so

54. Lands submerge and tributaries dye
And a cloud smiles, and “jinn” return

55. As angels and fields bloom
Abu Al-Mughawir “Haitham’s” brothers, the valiant horsemen

56. Encircled him
Be patient - a generous patience does not let you worry

57. You are for every glory a match
It hurts the soul to become sad

58. Your den, O snarling lion
But what is the way, when each living

59. Will one day take this way
Such is the world - revolving myths

60. And oblivious horses roaming
A house in which torture revolves

61. To which the resident guest gets crucified
And a massacre in which foreheads are dirtied

62. Smashing the vain hullabaloos
We are eaten by sunlight in succession

63. As shade eats away the little shade
And “particles” we flutter in a ray

64. And vanish – neither example nor parallel
And swords from sheaths slaughter us

65. For them the wailing women’s tinkle
Though when people come together over “the afflicted”

66. His plight becomes easy or gets solved
The loyal people wept over your affliction

67. And the comrades answered the comrades’ call
A helper shouted distributing the regrets

68. His envoy taking them to the world
Be patient Abu Muhammad, grief
