1. O my nation, o confederation of nations
Do not be angry, o snow, from my fever

2. Do not be angry, and my hand is disabled
That I hurl curses filling my mouth

3. And why does wisdom anger misery
A shameful decreed from ancient times?

4. But how does criticism harm a rock?
But how does fat stir a wound?

5. O misfortune of my bloodied fate
Played with and trampled underfoot

6. I do not ask leaders for an ear
Who whisper under the pretext of deafness

7. What is life if it is stripped
Of taking revenge for blood with blood?

8. And when souls incline to cobbling?
And when noses lack smelling?

9. Why are men complacent while in sanctity
When what is sacrosanct is violated?

10. How ugly are idols with no
Flexibility of consent and silence like an idol

11. They watch their disgraces!
When they claim good morals

12. In Libya there are zealots who have
Whatever desires they want from zealotry

13. So a suckling child is slaughtered there
And they are like servants to his butcher!

14. O Allah, your pardon, I am sick
And oppression is often crammed into the sick

15. So if armies frolic with them
They have an army of words
