Despite the nights, though shut youth has gone

4. It was resurrected in beauty, songs and lights spread
The river, the swaying trees trilled joyfully

5. The valley itself is paradise, envied
Or like eternal gardens, desired yet beyond reach

6. Trust, Zaheela, that beauty everywhere
Is but an imitation of your inborn grace

Are but waste and loss, aimless drifting

If the past could somehow be restored

To it, and gain in life so limited

10. No two hills flanking your valley gave birth
To one nobler or lovelier than you

11. The world's pleasures brought you their tidings
And birds greeted you with joyful song

12. Shading you, protecting you from the burning wind
A canopy of delicate shade outstretched

13. The guards kept watch over you on both sides
Sheltered from people's prying eyes

14. You faced the horizon proudly erect
Bending to no wind, nor ever turning back

15. Saying to storms descending upon you
Turn away, none but the guards are my thunder

16. Nature crafted you, with lush trees
And the babbling brook, perfectly composed

17. She blessed you with her favor, so you burst forth
While many a valley she left dry, barren

18. Imagination surveyed your every aspect
Drawing me to you, even the stone idols

19. The hard rock split open before you, revealing
Flowing water, in the mute rock, carving

20. Waters cascading from atop, scattered
Rushing on, rising up, directed on high

21. Then descending, seeking rest, confined
In channels, the shining pebbles ease their way

22. In the foothills, a threshold whose edge they've honed
Above the boulders, roaring threats they toss

23. From spring to spring, their tumult spreads
Catching the eye, or turning the gaze

24. On the law of Moses, baptized in water
As if, immersed by the water's eyes

25. Her blood drained from both jugular veins
Good tidings, September brings ripe grapes

26. Clustering on trellises, clinging in bunches
God bless the beautiful evenings here

27. Where darkness is lit up by the glowing moon
Nature's charm multiplied by a gentle gathering

28. Of both sexes, cheerful and amused
In cafés, sweethearts who've come down

29. To the valley of love, with lovers intoxicated
Goblets circulating, uncomplicated

30. Conversation, no gloom or tedium
Just comfort overwhelming them

31. Passed cups and refilling as soon as emptied
How You wasted your charms in a land

32. Where your like is everywhere scattered about
Your style is unique, no complexity

33. Weighs down the spirit, no knotted composition
Your breasts and chest, a trinity I hallow

34. Could trinity and oneness be combined
Wine blended with saliva, dancing

35. The cup passed by your mouth, a kiss
If my wish were granted, nothing else I'd want

The sash across them rules in its orbit
