Mixing its sweetness with bitterness

Quenching our thirst one month at a time

5. Oh, would that the horses of youth
Unbridled, do not shy away

6. After you our lives turned to wine

7. We added whiskey
Pistachios, and peel

8. And stuffed “chicken” seasoned
With “duloo’a” like a dome

9. Bottoms up, bottoms up
With it we hasten intoxication

10. And your first cup was
And our last cup of meeting

11. After it many cups circulated
Big and small

12. Heads too proud for smallness
Bowed down when drunk

13. Oblivious we caroused
Glory to He who ascended

14. With brothers, when life
Darkens, they are its dawn

15. Pure as a spring they declared
And good as the dew secretly

16. Tell “Abu Al-Qasim” that
We drink wine

17. And we read the unseen
And we blow magic

18. And we distort faith
Until disbelief prevails

19. And that the pure extract
If we want turns to dates

20. And that we, not life
Differentiate good and evil

21. And the arrogant fool
Seduced by us

22. Gratitude succeeds intoxication
And intoxication succeeds gratitude

23. Yearning pierps the ribs
I left it simmering coals

24. And a pact to remain
“Like brethren of loyalty” forever
