يقرظني قومي بأني مدحتهم

1. My people blame me for praising them
As a garden is praised for its fragrance

١. يُقَرِّظُني قَومي بِأَنّي مَدَحتُهُم
كَما يُمدَحُ الرَوضَ الذَكي عَلى النَفحِ

2. Had they been fair to me, they would have seen
My knowledge of truth piercing like a spear

٢. وَلَو أَنَّهُم قَد أَنصَفوني لَما رَأَوا
بِمَعرِفَتي لِلحَقِّ عارِقَةَ المَنسَحِ

3. For they would have seen their traces bearing witness to them
Birds would cry out to them in proclamation

٣. إِذا لَرَأوا آثارَهُم شاهِداً لَهُم
يَكادُ لَدَيهِمِ الطَيرُ يَهتِفُ بِالصَدحِ

4. I witnessed what I witnessed, no relation
Or connection distorts a testimony by slander

٤. شَهِدتُ بِما شاهَدتُ ما مِن عَلاقَةٍ
وَلا صِلَةٍ توهي الشَهادَةَ بِالجُرحِ

5. But eloquence is such that when it dazzles
It bestows a generous nature however mean

٥. وَلَكِنَّ مِن شَأنِ الفَصاحَةِ أَنَّها
إِذا بَهَرَت تَعطوا إِلى خُلقٌ سَمحِ

6. Swords God has sharpened, when battle stirs
And the caller to religion summons to throw and pierce

٦. سُيوفِ نَضاها اللَهُ إِذا حَمَّسَ الوَغى
وَنادى مُنادي الدينِ لِلرَميِ وَالنَضحِ

7. Unceasing in the army of misguidance their clashing
Never resting from cleansing breasts of filth

٧. واصِلٌ في جَيشِ الضَلالِ قِراعُها
فَما بَرَحَت تَشفي الصُدورَ مِنَ البَرَحِ

8. Flashing in a dark night gloomy
Their brightness made the night brighter than dawn

٨. تَلَألَأَ في قَطعٍ مِنَ اللَيلِ مُظلِمِ
سَناها فَكانَ اللَيلُ أَضوا مِنَ الصُبحِ

9. So do not let rashness seize you in ignorance
And return a wound to be torn by a wound

٩. فَلا تَأخُذَنَّكُم في الغُواةِ جَهرَةً
وَلَجوا فَعادَ القَرحَ يَنكَأُ بِالقَرحِ

10. For only breaking will end their malady
And naught but the stick and walnut eaten green

١٠. فَلَيسَ بِغَيرِ الكَسرِ حَسمَ لِدائِهِم
وَغَيرَ العَصا وَالجَوزُ يُؤكَلُ بِالشَقحِ

11. And all the sins of the worlds will end
In pardon except polytheism refusing clemency

١١. وَكُلُّ ذُنوبِ العالَمينَ مَصيرُها
إِلى العَفوِ إِلّا الشِركُ مُمتَنِعُ الصَفحِ

12. He will give you victory whom you give victory to His book
And soon bring you a triumphant opening

١٢. سَيَنصُرُكُم مَن تَنصُرونَ كِتابِهِ
وَيُؤتيكُمُ الفَتحُ القَريبُ مِنَ الفَتحِ
