1. Tell the dear one, may God prolong his joy,
And time itself serves his lofty door.
١. قُل لِلعَزيزِ أَدامَ اللَهُ بَهجَتَهُ
وَباتَ يَخدِمُ سامي بابِهِ الزَمَنُ
2. With a grandson God has blessed him, no less,
Constant are your blessings and graces.
٢. أَهنَأَ بِسَبطٍ بِهِ مَنَّ الإِلَهُ وَلا
زالَت تُلازِمُكَ الآلاءُ وَالمِنَنُ
3. Let the brave prince congratulate his father,
Gifted with a branch, met by a branch.
٣. وَليَهنَأَنَّ الأَميرُ الشَهمُ والِدَهُ
أَنعَمَ بِغُصنٍ نَضيرٍ جاءَهُ غُصنُ
4. When the glad tidings flew of his newborn,
And the eyes were delighted at what ears had heard.
٤. لَمّا تَطايَرَت البُشرى بِمَولودِهِ
وَقَرَّتِ العَينُ مِما تَسمَعُ الأُذُنُ
5. Your loving friend has composed a chronogram,
In splendor the beautiful face appeared.
٥. أَهدى مُحِبَّكَ تاريخاً وَقالَ بِهِ
بِعِزَّةٍ قَد تَجَلّى وَجهَهُ الحَسَنُ
